The $425 billion-asset company said in a press
release Friday that Christine Detrick had become a director and will stand for election
next May. She will serve on the audit and risk committees.
Detrick recently served
as a director and head of the Americas financial services practice at Bain &
Co. Previously, she was a member of the global leadership team, board of management
and board of directors at A.T. Kearney.
She was also president and CEO of St. Louis Bank for Savings.
Detrick “brings the wisdom of her diverse set of
experiences to our board, with an impressive blend of executive management and
board leadership roles across multiple industries,” Richard Fairbank, Capital One’s
chairman and CEO, said in the release.
“Her strong strategic mindset has been
honed through years of strategy consulting, complemented by hands-on business
experience, risk management expertise and elite governance skills,” Fairbank added.
