Origin in Louisiana adds CDFI leader to its board

Origin Bancorp in Ruston, La., has added the CEO of a community development financial institution to its board.

The $8.1 billion-asset Origin said in a press release Monday that Daniel Chu was elected as a director at its April 27 annual meeting. Chu is the founder and CEO of Tricolor Holdings, a Dallas CDFI that uses technology to advance financial inclusion to the Hispanic community.

Chu’s “entrepreneurial mindset and vast experience will be tremendous resources as we continue to grow the company and provide value to our employees, customers, communities and shareholders,” Drake Mills, Origin’s chairman, president and CEO, said in the release.

Origin recently announced plans to expand in Texas with its pending purchase of BT Holdings in Quitman.
