The association said in a press release that its board had
appointed Carol Marx as its new president and CEO, succeeding Dennis Tanimoto.
Marx previously served as a retail sales manager for the mortgage banking
division at Bank of Hawaii in Honolulu. She has also worked at Bank of America, First
Hawaiian Bank and Pioneer Federal Savings Bank.
“The credit unions of Hawaii provide their members with excellent
services and execute their missions to serve those in their charter, some for
over 80 years now," Marx said in the release. "I will move forward
with the Hawaii Credit Union League’s staff and board … to continue to support
the members of this trade association, representing Hawaii.”
The association “looks forward to an exciting new era under the
leadership of Carol Marx,” Chairman Clayton Fuchigami said in the release.
“We are very fortunate to have secured someone with an extensive
background in financial services, management and volunteerism,” Fuchigami
added. “In her role, she will provide the strategic leadership, advocacy and
support necessary to rally our credit unions to unified success.”
